This booklet covers a very small sample of the park's native plants. Mapping and historical research was carried out by the Mosman Parklands & Ashton Park Association. Plant illustrations are by Betty Maloney who was one of the early proponents of bush gardens. She also wrote Designing Australian Bush Gardens and More about Bush Gardens in the early 1960s. Her illustrations for Proteaceae of the Sydney Region published in 1992 are in the archives of the State Library of NSW.
