Zali Steggall, Independent MP for Warringah will reintroduce her Climate Change Bills to Federal Parliament today, Monday 18 October 20121. The updated Bills contain a new target of 60% emissions reduction on 2005 levels by 2030.

The Bills will ensure that Australia takes a leading international role in the world’s transition to Net Zero.

“There is a new wave of opportunity, and we need leadership and commitment to be part of it. We need to set ambitious targets to drive investment and uptake in clean technologies”, Ms Steggall said.

“I call on the Morrison Government to pass the Bills without delay and go to COP26 with a strong responsible position on climate.”
