A target of zero extinctions for our national parks has been announced by Environment Minister, Matt Kean today, 7 September 2021 - National Threatened Species Day.

You can read about it here In today’s article in the Sydney Morning Herald by Peter Hannam, Environment Editor: “Threatened species fortress’ Zero extinction goal for national parks” >

Mosman Parks & Bushland is overjoyed by this announcement. Mosman has Sydney Harbour National Park on its doorstep. It has an exceptional ecological system of birds, trees and native flowers, some of which are threatened or vulnerable. In an era of extinctions the protection provided by our National Parks is essential.
