Scenic Protection Area proposal.

Mosman Council has proposed the creation of a special Environment Zone (E4) which would maintain the current existing protections for this critically important harbour-side land.

Mosman Parks and Bushland has always supported the Scenic Protection Area and now supports the proposal for an E4 zone which, if created, would continue the protection of the scenic and landscape character of the Harbour slopes as well as the tree canopy, vegetation, biodiversity and wildlife habitat. This is important, not just for Mosman but for Sydney Harbour.

The proposal is still only a proposal. Once the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment gives the go ahead, Council will conduct a formal community consultation before a decision is made.
